Paxton Heritage Festival
The Paxton Heritage Festival is located in Paxton, Florida on U.S. Hwy 331, one mile south of the Alabama State line. The fun begins at 9:45 AM. Visit their web page at http://www.expage.com/ghaw for a complete schedule of events. The Ruritan Club sponsored day’s events include:
· G. Haw Whimmydiddle 5K Uphill Run to Florida's highest elevation point (345 ft.) in beautiful North Walton County.
· The Walton Guard a Civil War reenactment group will set up an authentic campsite. You may visit with them while they demonstrate life during that time.
· Horseshoes; People’s Choice Top Twenty Car Show, children's events, arts, crafts, Dulcimers, a working Blacksmith, Bluegrass and Gospel music, old time work skill demonstrations, pony rides, and an active sugar cane mill. Folks are invited to sample cane juice, and bring a child to taste it for the very first time. There will also be a variety of foods for everyone
· Pam and Tom Thompson will be demonstrating basketry, storytelling, old time bowl making, splitting wood shingles, creating corn shuck dolls, and making lye soap.
· A flint knapper will be demonstrating the artistry of making arrowheads.
· Miss Heritage Festival Pageant.
· World-class exhibit dealing with the history and heritage of the Bible entitled
"Let There Be Light; William Tyndale and the making of the English Bible."
